Location: Duration: 12Months+ Extension Hourly Rate: Depending on Experience (DOE) Work Authorization: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong backend development expertise to join Credit Karma on a long-term contract. This is a backend-focused role with some exposure to frontend development. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, deliver high-quality solutions quickly, and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities

Independently execute backend engineering tasks with minimal supervision. Build and enhance features on top of an existing codebase. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Contribute to scaling product features for millions of users. Required Skills

Programming Languages: Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript . Frameworks & Tools: GraphQL, Node.js, React. Cloud: Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred. Architecture: Experience with microservices. Deployment: Familiar with CI/CD pipelines. Additional: Strong computer science fundamentals. Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

Experience with Scala . Previous product engineering experience building customer-facing features. Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems. Hiring Needs

Urgent requirement to replace resources without impacting project timelines. Looking for mid to senior-level engineers who can hit the ground running. Strong backend experience in TypeScript is mandatory. Java experience is acceptable only if paired with solid TypeScript expertise . No time for ramp-up—candidates must have required skills from day one. High-performing, fast-paced team with aggressive delivery targets. Backend team drives most of the feature development. Strong collaboration with Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
