Summary
Balfour Beatty Construction seeks a Safety, Health & Environmental Manager to work for our Special Projects Group in Dallas, TX. This position is responsible for implementing the companys safety and loss prevention programs. Additionally, this role ensures that job-site employees and subcontractors are trained in all safety protocols, including federal and state regulations, to prevent accidents and injuries. All work is local, so there will be no overnight travel related to projects. Essential Functions
The Safety, Health & Environmental Manager will: Coordinate and facilitate safety training and incentive programs, maintain statistical information on costs and incident frequency, perform accident investigations, and manage safety personnel and consultants. Conduct jobsite visits and safety audits as dictated by project needs. Prepare project safety start-up packets, including new-hire documentation and compliance materials. Review and assist superintendents with project-specific safety plans. Ensure MSDS books are available and up-to-date on-site. Address environmental and hazardous material issues, providing resources and solutions. Track safety training for project personnel. Ensure supervisors have current first aid certifications. Maintain site safety records. Oversee the sites drug testing program for craft/hourly workers. Represent the company at safety meetings, alliances, and associations. Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Safety & Environmental Health or Construction Management/Engineering, at least 5 years of commercial construction safety experience, 2 years of supervisory experience, proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office, and OSHA 30 certification.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in commercial construction safety.
