Rate Range: $85-$90/Hr

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect to join our team in a hybrid work environment. This role will primarily focus on building and optimizing cloud data platforms, specifically using Amazon Web Services (AWS) . You will work closely with the data engineering, data science, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions for Mizuho Bank's critical data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud data architecture, particularly within financial services or banking, and a deep understanding of AWS tools and services. Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Data Architecture

: Design, build, and implement data architectures on AWS, including data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and secure. AWS Services

: Leverage AWS services like

Redshift

,

S3

,

Glue

,

Kinesis

,

Athena

,

EMR

, and

Lambda

to develop end-to-end data solutions. Data Modeling & Transformation

: Lead data modeling efforts and work with teams to define and implement data transformation strategies to support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting requirements. Performance Optimization

: Optimize the performance, scalability, and security of the data infrastructure, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery. Collaboration

: Work closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to ensure the design meets both functional and non-functional requirements. Compliance & Security

: Ensure all data solutions comply with regulatory and security standards specific to the banking/financial industry. Documentation & Best Practices

: Maintain documentation for data models, architectural designs, and data processes, and establish best practices for the team. Required Qualifications:

Experience

: 8+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 4+ years in AWS cloud environments. Banking/Financial Services

: Prior experience working in the

banking

or

financial services

industry is required, with a strong understanding of industry-specific data regulations and standards. AWS Proficiency

: Strong expertise in AWS services, including

Redshift

. Data Engineering

: Hands-on experience with data pipeline development, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data lake architectures. Big Data

: Knowledge of big data technologies like

: Strong proficiency in SQL (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB). Scripting/Programming

: Proficiency in Python, SQL, or other relevant programming languages for data engineering tasks. Cloud Security & Compliance

: Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and compliance standards, particularly in a banking context (e.g.,
