JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Winder to support our Torrance, CA facility in producing high-quality transformer coils used in electrical equipment, instruments, and electronic components. The role involves operating coil-winding machines and using hand tools to build coils according to wiring diagrams, work orders, or sample coils. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, technical aptitude in reading schematics, and the ability to perform welding, brazing, and assembly work to meet production standards.
Key Responsibilities: Wind standard coils for dry-type transformers according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work orders. Perform welding and/or brazing to join bus bars to foil. Utilize hook-up/hot work assembly tools to meet production requirements. Inspect product quality and verify installation meets coil dimension, bus bar location, and production quality standards. Maintain a minimum of 80% productivity against time standards. Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints. Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable work area. Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. export control and ITAR regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience in a related value stream. Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee). Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Must reside within 50 miles of Torrance, CA (no relocation provided). Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. 3+ years of experience with soldering, brazing, or welding OR completion of a welding certificate/high school trades course. Previous machine operation experience.
