Summary of position : The Physical Therapist enables children to access their educational programs through identification and therapy when needed.
Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):
Provide initial evaluation and re-evaluation of children. Evaluate functional strengths and weaknesses through observation and administration of standardized and non-standardized procedures in: 1. Neuromuscular development. 2. Sensory-motor integration. 3. Fine motor skills. 4. Gross motor skills. 5. Proper positioning. 6. Visual motor skills. 7. Oral motor and feeding skills. 8. Prevocational skills.
Provide appropriate staff with demonstration of Physical Therapy (PT) programs recommended. Work integratively within the classroom setting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. PA State Certification/License. Knowledge of and experience with neuro-developmental system. Experience working with students with various disabilities and developmental levels. Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of special education. Schedule: Full-time, 10 months/year
Salary:
Bachelor = $51,419 to $80,190 Bach+15 credits = $52,136 to $80,915 Bach+24 credits = $52,927 to $81,715 Masters = $62,870 to $92,455 Mast+15 credits = $63,563 to $93,155 Mast+30 credits = $64,255 to $93,855 Mast+45 credits = $65,641 to $95,255 Mast+60 credits = $66,877 to $96,505 Benefits Included: Health, vision, and dental insurance Long term disability Life insurance Eligible for PSERS, PA Public School Employees Retirement System Employee Assistance Program to include three free counseling sessions
