UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Respiratory Therapist to support the Infant Team!

The Infant Respiratory Therapy department includes many areas for opportunity such as Labor & Delivery Response, Level III NICU, OB Trauma Response, Neonatal Team Autonomy, and Inter-facility Ground Transport.

This position will work rotating shifts.

Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

We will consider CRT, RRT, and all levels of the career ladder. The final title and pay will be determined by education, experience and certifications.

Responsibilities:

Operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas apparatus, and aerosol generators

Transport mechanically ventilated patients

Maintain patient charts

Assess patient condition and determine treatment requirements

Monitor patient responses to therapy

Perform bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises

Conduct pulmonary function tests

Graduate of a Co ARC (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program required.

o Students who have received a Temporary Practice Permit but have not yet graduated from a Co ARC approved Respiratory program are permitted to begin employment with approval from the Human Resources department.

Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required Basic Life Support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation required Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required prior to expiration of temporary practice permit.

o Respiratory therapists who receive their CRT credential from the NBRC after July 1, 2002, are required to maintain certification under the NBRC requirements

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) OR Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP)

Act 33 with renewal

Act 34 with renewal

Act 73 FBI Clearance
