Overview/ Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will participate with creating business intelligence dashboards and reports while creating data models in our modernize data platform. You will be responsible for building and optimizing data models using Python, PySpark and SQL, and migrating and/or developing BI dashboard and reporting solutions that drive insights and support strategic data-driven decision-making. This position requires a robust combination of technical expertise (Python, PySpark, SQL), data modeling skills, and an understanding of data visualization best practices. You will interface with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of reliable and scalable data products.
Responsibilities:
Partner with business stakeholders tocodify KPIs/metrics into scalable data models andautomate their measurement.
Translate business requirements intotechnical specifications for transformationsandPower BI semantic models.
Collaborate with Data Engineering, Operations, and Product teams toalign data solutions with business goals.
Design, develop, and optimize medallion architecture and Delta Lake usingPySpark, Python, and SQL.
Build and maintainsemantic layers optimized for self-service analytics, BI tools, and Data Science.
Develop, and maintainhigh-performance semantic models with efficient DAX, relationships, and star schemas.
Createinteractive, user-centric dashboardsthat translate complex data into actionable insights.
Optimize Power BI performance: Tune DAX, leverage Aggregations, manage DirectQuery/Import modes, and implement Row-Level Security (RLS).
Migrate legacy reports.
Establish and enforcedata governance standards: Metadata documentation (Unity Catalog), lineage, naming conventions, and security.
Mentor analystson engineering best practices: Git, testing, modular code (PySpark/SQL), and efficient dashboard and reporting development.
Develop and maintaincomprehensive documentationfor data models, dashboards, and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or a total of 9 years of applicable professional experience in lieu of a degree. MUST BE US CITIZEN
for government clearance/contract requirements. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep. Advanced SQL skills and experience with data querying and manipulation. Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with databases. Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView) is a plus. Collaborate with the data engineering team to develop and maintain ETL pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and integrity for front-end reporting in Tableau. Soft Skills: Well-developed analytical & problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration. Excellent team player, able to work with virtual teams Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality deliverables. Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal management supervision Desired Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Tableau certification (e.g., Tableau Desktop Specialist, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional). Experience with programming languages such as Python or R. Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services. About Sev1Tech LLC
