HVAC Technician (HVAC Mechanic) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of HVAC and electrical equipment located in the interior and exterior of building. Installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical/electrical operating equipment and machinery. Operation, repair and maintenance of utility plant equipment and associated systems. Regularly conducts a routine and on-going assessment of the building systems operations. Performs tests, rounds and analyzes data to assure the proper functioning of departmental equipment. Monitors the operation of all mechanical & electrical operating equipment. What your day-to-day will look like: Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges, and cleaning or replacing burners or other components, using hand tools and power tools. Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers, and building automation systems in office buildings Diagnose system malfunctions and equipment failures using diagnostic tools, gauges, and computerized control systems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, belt inspections, lubrication, calibration of controls, and seasonal system startups/shutdowns to ensure optimal performance Read and interpret technical documentation including blueprints, schematics, manufacturer specifications, and building automation system interfaces to execute work orders accurately. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations including EPA refrigerant handling requirements, OSHA standards, and local building codes while maintaining proper certifications Required Qualifications: EPA Universal All HVAC personnel designated to work on, operate, maintain, and (or) repair HVAC equipment or systems shall maintain a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of continuing education annually from a NATE, HVAC Excellence, or UA Star recognized provider program. All HVAC personnel designated to work on, operate, maintain, and (or) repair HVAC equipment or systems shall possess one (1) or more of the following certifications: a. North American Technician Excellence (N.A.T.E.) HVACR Service Technician Certification b. HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification c.
