Title:Digital Literacy Trainer Location:Nashville, TN Position Description:

The Client is seeking candidates for part-time grant funded Digital Literacy Trainers. The position involves teaching basic digital literacy skill classes for older adults at library branch locations. Each class session will consist of 5 Weeks of training. Morning and afternoon group classes will be held 2 days per week and 2 days will consist of one-on-one appointments with the participants to gage retention and provide help will any learning issues. Program Overview:

The Senior Tech Academy will focus on foundational digital literacy and the practical application of these skills to access critical online services. The curriculum includes: Setting up and navigating tablets Creating and managing email accounts Browsing the internet safely and effectively Accessing government resources such as Medicare, Social Security, and hub Nashville Identifying reliable online information, with emphasis on health resources Communicating with others through digital platforms Utilizing the librarys online services The program will be implemented over two five-week sessions. During each session, three library branches will host classes, supported by a total of six trainerstwo assigned to eachbranch. Class size will be limited to a maximum of ten older adult participants, with both morning and afternoon groups offered at each location. The first session is anticipated to launch in late fall. In addition to training, each participant will receive a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ at no cost, ensuring continued access to learning and digital engagement beyond the program. Job Duties: Assist each participant in setting up the tablet they will be using in class and an email address Co-Teach digital literacy classes for older adults using curriculum developed by the library. Work along with co-trainer with small groups of participants (10 or less) Discuss with each participant their home internet access. Advise participant of low-cost home internet service options Assist participants in applying for services they choose. Administer survey at the end of each class session

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):

Some college or professional training required. Ability to travel to various library locations Valid Tennessee drivers license Experience using computers, the Internet and email Experience with mobile devices and downloading Apps Familiar with Internet Safety, Privacy and Security Knowledge of Nashville Public Library digital products a plus Ability to communicate effectively with older adults of diverse backgrounds and skill levels Knowledge of current technologies with a willingness to learn Excellent customer service skills Patience a must

Trainers Six trainers will deliver instruction using curriculum developed by the library. Prior to program launch, trainers will receive orientation and all necessary teaching materials. During the first week, trainers will work with participants individually to set up their devices, preparing them forthe group classes that begin in week two.

Weekly Schedule Monday & Wednesday Group classes (Morning and Afternoon sessions, 2 hours each) Tuesday & Thursday One-on-one support sessions (50 minutes each)
