Job Summary

To provide counseling and counseling-related services to university students. To also provide mental health consultation and outreach services to the university community.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Counseling; Counseling/Psychology or Social Work from an accredited institution

Licensed eligible within one year as a Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker.

Knowledge of the practices, procedures, processes and/or protocols for the provision of counseling services in a mental health agency or college or university counseling center.

Knowledge of college student development.

Demonstrated ability to supervise mental health professionals in training.

Internship at a University/College Counseling Services or mental health agency.

Completion of graduate internship at a mental health agency.

Experience as a counselor in college/university counseling center or in a mental health agency.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred licensed in VA as a licensed professional counselor or social worker.

Preferred experience in a college counseling center which includes training practicum and intern students.
