Overview
MiraCosta College is seeking a Director of Student Services, San Elijo Campus. One interim (temporary/hourly), full-time assignment, 40 hours per week, for at least 12 months (and no more than two years), on the San Elijo campus. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The position is temporary with potential eligibility to apply for the permanent Director, Student Services - San Elijo Campus position when recruited. Assignment may require placement at any district facility during hours of operation. Important Information

Compensation starts at $51.28 per hour (CM-8, step 1). Benefits for short-term, temporary employees may include certain leave and retirement enrollment. Direct deposit of paychecks is required. Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Responsibilities) Provide direction for student services departments; advocate for student support services; communicate college activities, policies, and decisions to students, faculty, staff, and community members; refer students to community organizations and social services as appropriate. Serve as a student conduct administrator and facilitate the student grievance and complaint process in collaboration with the area dean. Act as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the district to support students affected by harassment, violence, and stalking. Facilitate conflict resolution among faculty, staff, students, and the community. Conduct onboarding activities including new student orientations. Identify, develop, and implement studies and analyses of student services aligned with the College mission and community needs. Develop and provide in-service programs to promote learning and professional growth. Contribute to the development and monitoring of the annual department budget; supervise and participate in plans, work processes, systems, and procedures to achieve goals. Administer policies and procedures related to student services. Coordinate and provide workshops for students, faculty, staff, and community members. Assist in selection, training and supervision of staff and student workers. Provide leadership in marketing and student recruitment activities; represent the college in community groups and professional organizations; act on behalf of the campus dean in their absence related to site administration duties.
As Assigned To The San Elijo Campus (SEC)
Oversee student life, outreach, recruitment events, and the operational activities of the student center; provide student leadership development and ASG coordination; supervise diverse student leaders and advise student organizations; guide policy development for Associated Students documents.
Other Duties
Serve as Planning Coordinator and/or Alternate Incident Commander for the area Emergency Response Team. Administer and implement co-curricular events; facilitate program evaluations. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Of
Applicable laws and regulations related to community college admissions, registration, attendance accounting, and recordkeeping. Community college curriculum, organization, operations, policies, and objectives. Research methods, supervision practices, budget preparation, and office procedures. Communication skills, both oral and written. Safety policies and workplace practices.
Ability To
Plan, organize, manage, and evaluate staff in student services. Analyze issues, develop recommendations, and interpret applicable laws and policies. Collaborate with other directors and managers to develop solutions. Develop procedures, budgets, and reports; communicate clearly; maintain effective working relationships. Represent the district with external stakeholders and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
Education & Experience
Minimum qualifications: Education and experience equivalent to a bachelors degree from an accredited college and three (3) years of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the duties. Masters degree preferred. Note: One year is defined as 40 hours per week for 12 months, or 2,080 hours. Desirable Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish). Licenses & Other Requirements
A valid California drivers license and the ability to maintain insurability under the districts vehicle insurance program. Physical & Emotional Requirements
Primarily sedentary with intermittent standing, lifting up to 25 pounds; travel to various locations as needed. Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and maintain professionalism with diverse individuals. Working Conditions
