Remote role based in New York City, New York State. Compensation: Depends on Experience. W2-Contract Only; applications on a C2C basis will not be considered. The Test Lead will drive quality assurance and Agile delivery for customer-facing IT solutions. Responsible for all aspects of testing throughout the Software Development Lifecycle. Oversees the planning and scheduling of test activities and ensures that testing deliverables are produced. Reviews and validates test results and defect reports. Schedules and leads defect meetings with stakeholders. Educates customers and project teams about User Acceptance Testing. Creates summary reports and communicates defect metrics on a daily and weekly basis. Establishes DevOps practices, coaches teams on Agile methodologies, leads strategic test planning and execution, and implements automated testing frameworks and QA data quality. Key Responsibilities DevOps Enablement: Design, implement, and optimize DevOps pipelines to support continuous integration, deployment, and automated testing across multiple applications. Agile Coaching: Serve as Scrum Master for cross-functional teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching teams through Agile transformations. Strategic Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans, covering functional, regression, system, systems integration, and data quality testing. Automated Testing Leadership: Lead the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts and regression beds, leveraging tools such as Selenium. QA Framework Development: Establish and continuously improve QA processes, including test planning, defect tracking, compliance, and risk mitigation. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage high-performing QA and Agile teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables and seamless integration of QA into development cycles. Change Management: Address challenges in integrating QA and DevOps into ongoing development, overcoming resistance, and driving adoption of best practices. Reporting: Track and report on QA metrics, Agile progress, risks, and release readiness to leadership.

Must-Have Experience

Regression testing, system testing, systems integration testing, and QA data quality. Setting up and optimizing DevOps pipelines and CI/CD processes. Leading Agile teams and coaching on Agile best practices. Strategic test planning and execution for complex enterprise applications. Automated testing using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium).

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 8+ years of experience in software testing, QA leadership, and Agile environments. Proven experience in all aspects of testing, including regression, system, systems integration, and data quality. Demonstrated success as a Scrum Master, coaching teams through Agile transformations. Certifications such as SAFe Scrum Master, Selenium Practitioner, ETL Tester, DevOps for Data Tester. Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in utility or energy sector IT projects. Familiarity with customer engagement platforms and digital transformation initiatives. Ability to manage decentralized teams across multiple time zones.
