Data Engineer position in Huntsville, AL. Chenega Military, Intelligence & Operations Support (MIOS) seeks a data-focused programmer to enhance skills in a rapidly evolving business climate, with an emphasis on professional development embedded in the employers culture. Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate with internal or external parties the collection, compilation, normalization, and standard analysis of data assets across diverse projects and data platforms. Develop, maintain, evaluate, and test data solutions within an organization. Develop and execute plans, policies, and practices that control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value and integrity of the organization's data and information assets and programs. Collect, store, process, and analyze raw and/or complex data from multiple sources, recommend ways to apply the data, choose and design optimal data solutions, and build data processing systems using expertise in data warehousing solutions and the latest database technologies. Maintain, implement, and monitor the quality of the data and information with the architecture used across the company; report results and identify and recommend system or application changes to improve data quality. Investigate data quality problems, conduct analysis to determine root causes, correct errors, and develop prototypes and process improvement plans across all programs, including proof of concepts for selected solutions. Process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis, followed by performing the analysis. Integrate innovations and algorithms into the organization's data systems, working closely with the engineering team. Implement complex data projects focused on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets to turn information into insights using multiple platforms. Establish safety protocols to protect all data collected and used by the organization. Ensure policy, process, and procedure compliance in day-to-day management. Work closely with the client to manage data needs and support collection for various operational needs. Data analysis, problem solving, investigation, and creative thinking with large data sets; responsible for source code control using GitLab. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, IT, or business-related programs 4+ years of experience in building data pipelines, integrating sources for dashboards, analytics, and compliance reporting. Cybersecurity certifications like CISSP, CISA, or CISM are desired Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M (Security+ certification) desired Must have active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in Python, SQL Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and migrating to the cloud Experience working in Unix/Linux environments Experience with database query tuning; NoSQL experience is a plus Experience working in cloud infrastructures Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) and hybrid cloud environments Agile Scrum certifications desired Knowledge of CI/CD tools Experience with relational databases and BI tools (Power BI, BO) Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) Experience extracting and transforming data for exploratory analytics and operational reporting Strong storytelling and data visualization skills Expertise in data management, engineering, and science Good time management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and in a team; collaborate and drive continuous improvement Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements Ability to travel up to 10% How You'll Grow
