Senior Planning Engineer Position
ControlPoint Technologies is seeking a Senior Transmission and Distribution Planning Engineer to provide project support within our Electric Utility System Planning & Engineering team. Candidates must have direct experience with Transmission and/or Distribution System Planning and Distributed Generation Projects, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), in the Electric Power Industry. Ability to work within engineering design standards and quality programs specific to client needs and requirements. Project Management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines is required. Must be an outgoing team player with the ability to provide client confidence. Projects Include:
Area Planning Studies Electric Utility Asset Management Analytical Studies for Distribution System System Modeling for Stability Studies and Power Flow Analysis Conduct Thermal Capability Analysis Distributed Generation Interconnection Studies Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Integration Renewable Energy Implementation Clean Energy Engineering System Impact Studies Arc Flash Analysis Power System Studies Protection and Coordination Review, Analysis, Settings Skills:
Electrical System Planning Studies and Analysis Professional attitude, accountable, able to work independently and with utility groups, departments, and operations. Ability to estimate project scope and develop project plan to meet critical success factors. ASPEN, CYME, PSS/E, Synergi Planning Criteria and Standards: ISO, FERC, NERC, NPCC Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Minimum of five (5) years' experience in electrical distribution planning for utilities Experience in Electric Power Distribution Design Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills Demonstrated leadership ability and high level of business and engineering ethics.
