Information Technology Hours of Work

Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Location

City Hall - 632 W 6th Ave, 4th Floor Responsibilities

Assist municipal employees and contractors with information technology use. Troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve network connectivity and desktop hardware/software issues. Utilize test equipment and software tools for troubleshooting. Assist with hardware and software installations or moves/adds/changes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and five (5) years of technical/professional MIS experience, working with clients on the resolution of computer problems and/or the configuration of hardware, software, and network facilities. OR Associates degree in Computer Science, or related field, and three (3) years of technical/professional MIS experience, working with clients on the resolution of computer problems and/or the configuration of hardware, software, and network facilities. OR Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or related field, and one (1) year of technical/professional MIS experience, working with clients on the resolution of computer problems and/or the configuration of hardware, software, and network facilities. Licenses and Background Checks

A valid State of Alaska Drivers License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire. Satisfactory Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check within 30 days of hire. All required certifications and/or licenses must remain current for the duration of employment. Other Requirements

The Municipality participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify Program. Background checks will be conducted; appointment may be conditional based on a satisfactory Municipal Employment Office background check. CJIS security clearance and access within 30 days of hire; failure to obtain may result in termination. Drivers license and driving record documentation may be required if Alaska license was issued within one year prior to application; processing fees are the responsibility of the applicant. Veterans and National Guard/Reserve members may be eligible for interview preference; attach relevant documentation to the application.
