Job Duties:
Key Job Responsibilities: Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders following established vendor procurement procedures Inspects and inventories received items and processes notifications to appropriate entities Shelves inventory and maintains organization Generates inventory reports to account for available stock and usage The University of Wisconsin-Stout's Purchasing and Materials Management department invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Inventory Control Coordinator. The Inventory Control Coordinator supports the Surplus and Mail Services departments by picking up and delivering equipment and furnishings, collecting and delivering mail and packages, and staffing in-person sales events.
This position is a part-time, temporary university staff position that reports directly to the Materials Management Supervisor.
Position Description:
This position is responsible for arranging departmental retrieval and departmental delivery of surplus property, public customer order pick-ups, surplus property assessment, determining best method for resale, inspection and testing of property for functionality, identification of fixed asset property for inventory disposal, and management of in-house store sales. This position also assists with package and mail deliveries. As needed, this position will float back and forth between Surplus and Mail Services to provide coverage. This position works independently with limited supervision.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Receive Surplus Property Declarations and Surplus Property Requests. Insure that property declaration forms are complete and accurate. Maintain records of declaration and disposal of surplus property as required by State and Federal regulations. Arrange for pickup/removal of surplus property from requesting department units; make arrangements for return of surplus property back on campus. Ensure that proper safety precautions are taken when moving surplus property. This includes wearing proper footwear and using proper lifting techniques. Evaluate condition and test for functionality. Determine best method of resale (online advertising, online auction, in-store, state funded entities, private sector entities, e-cycle/e-scrap). Price property considering condition, researching comparative product resale price sources, and considering potential buyer/clientele pool. Research resale markets in used equipment for potential resale/buyer sources. Help identify and develop alternative markets for reuse and recycling of surplus property. Assist customers and accept payments during in-person store sales events. Minimum Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills in collaborating with a diverse community. Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and the Internet. Can delegate and prioritize work. Excellent work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, thoroughness, and resourcefulness. Work independently and as part of a team environment and in collaborative efforts. Special Requirements
Valid Driver's license Must have the physical ability to pass the Job Function Screening administered by Red Cedar Medical Center as applicable to the title of Inventory Control Coordinator. Working Conditions and Environment
While performing the tasks of this position, travel around campus will be routine to pick up and drop off surplus items and package delivery.
