Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor
Location: Croton on Hudson, NY
Salary: $90K - $110K
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled,
hands-on Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor
with a strong mechanical aptitude and a proven track record in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment. This individual must be self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently as well as leading by example in a team setting. The ideal candidate will have expert-level knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting techniques, and preventative maintenance procedures. This position will manage and directly supervise a team of 5-7 mechanics, ensuring workflow efficiency, adherence to safety standards, and continuous skill development.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a supervisor. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, shafts, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, etc. Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, welders, grinders, and precision measuring instruments. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics. Familiarity with lockout/tagout, OSHA safety standards, and preventive maintenance programs. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Physically able to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces or at heights. Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Install, inspect, and upgrade production machinery and infrastructure. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to diagnose problems and determine proper repair procedures. Lead or assist in equipment rebuilds and overhauls. Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment issues and recommend solutions. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Document maintenance and repair work using the company’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency. Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of mechanics, providing guidance, direction, and performance feedback. Train and mentor junior mechanics and maintenance staff as needed. Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed and be available for on-call support.
