The ICE (Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical) Technician applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify operational electrical machinery and control equipment. Responsibilities include assembling and testing motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, and other electrical components, diagnosing malfunctions, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance. The ICE Technician also focuses on instrumentation calibrations, valve and instrument PMs, and control valve support. This role may involve handling hazardous waste management tasks, including collection, storage, and shipment preparation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspect production areas for hazards, wear, leaks, and conditions requiring maintenance or shutdown. Maintain safety and environmental compliance during maintenance activities. Read SOPs to understand job scope, tools, and permits needed. Respond to instructions from supervisors or planners. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas. Interact effectively with team members. Conduct safety equipment and process inspections, document findings. Participate in safety processes and committees. Ensure all personal training requirements are met with Maintenance Leadership. Obtain necessary work permits. Coordinate with operations to determine daily maintenance needs. Work with planners to complete scheduled tasks. Accurately record work orders and maintain documentation. Suggest improvements to preventive maintenance procedures. Handle spills and hazardous waste, coordinating with EH&S for proper management. Collect, label, and store hazardous waste appropriately. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Desired Background High School diploma Five years of experience in industrial electrical work Formal training in the National Electric Code (NEC) Knowledge, Skills & Talents Current NFPA 70E ARC FLASH training and procedures Strong troubleshooting and communication skills Knowledge of power distribution, AC/DC voltage (24V480V) Experience with troubleshooting tools like FLUKE, MEGGER, HART equipment Understanding of industrial motors, MCCs, VFDs, and motor troubleshooting Basic knowledge of industrial instrumentation, including pressure and temperature transmitters Knowledge of valve positioners, actuator, and pneumatic troubleshooting Basic understanding of Ethernet operations and PLCs Experience with packaging equipment, wiring, and signal terminations The estimated base pay range for this position is $36/hr $45/hr, determined by experience and qualifications. The role is eligible for a short-term incentive program.
