Protection and Control Engineer

We are seeking a Protection and Control Engineer to lead and manage multiple substation and P&C projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all projects align with company standards while developing scopes of work, cost estimates, and managing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgment. This role requires adaptability to shifting deadlines, scope changes, and unexpected developments. Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple substation and P&C projects. Develop scopes of work and cost estimates. Manage competing priorities using engineering and financial judgment. Coordinate with clients and attend project meetings. Travel to other offices as needed. Create and revise one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring, grounding, and physical layouts. Integrate protection and control drawings with substation physical design. Design SCADA and communication interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs. Develop control and relay panel layouts, project criteria, and design specifications including BOMs. Size and design auxiliary systems such as AC/DC load centers, batteries, chargers, conduit, cable, and backup generators. Coordinate with CAD operators to produce high-quality drawings. Perform QA/QC reviews, point-to-point checks, and document findings. Review junior engineers' work for compliance with client standards and identify protection gaps. Order long-lead materials and maintain record documentation. Communicate QA/QC results and technical updates to the team. Essential Skills

Substation and P&C utilities engineering expertise. Experience in substation protection and controls. Proficiency in electrical utility and substation engineering. SCADA and control design skills. Experience with electrical design, QA/QC, schematic, and wiring diagrams. Additional Skills & Qualifications

4-15 years of experience supporting substation protection & controls projects. Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Field. EIT or PE preferred. Experience in a leadership position, managing, or mentoring junior staff is preferred. Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid schedule with 3-days per week in-office required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $69.71/hr.
