We have an exciting opportunity for a

Lunar Rover Thermal Engineer

to join our JETS II contract team at

NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX .

If selected you will:

Distill best practices and draft guidelines for rover thermal development.

Develop and analyze integrated thermal models for lunar surface applications.

Participate in and support thermal model and document reviews.

Evaluate passive thermal hardware solutions.

Assist with requirement definition and verification to support development milestones.

Conduct trade studies for thermal system approaches.

Lead and support thermal testing efforts.

Perform model correlation and validation using test data.

Demonstrate strong leadership and communication with cross-functional management and engineering teams.

Serve as deputy PTCS sub-system manager for EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) projects.

Qualifications:

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience

Minimum of 5 years of engineering analysis experience related to thermal control systems.

Strong technical writing and presentation skills, able to articulate conclusions and defend them when challenged.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited engineering school.

Understanding of mission development phases and milestone requirements.

Proven track record in conducting trade studies, model reviews, and correlation activities.

Professional experience with thermal modeling for spacecraft, landers, or rovers.

Hands-on familiarity with passive thermal hardware and associated selection criteria.

System management experience preferred.
