Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Transportation - Water Resources Engineer to join our team in our Richmond, VA office. This position will be instrumental in leading the hydraulics efforts in Virginia and will focus on hydrologic analysis, compliance, and hydraulic design for transportation projects. Responsibilities
Lead hydraulics efforts for transportation projects in Virginia including hydrologic analysis, compliance, and hydraulic design Develop complete contract advertisement documents including plans, engineers estimate, bid quantities, contract standard specifications, and project special provisions Coordinate submittals and reviews for FEMA FIS CLOMR/LOMR, and ensure approvals Apply Hydraulic Engineering Circulars (HECs) related to scour, stream and bank stability, roadway stability, and related countermeasure design (e.g., HEC-18, HEC-20, HEC-23) Possibly lead the Hydraulics discipline or work toward becoming a Discipline Lead Support development of project deliverables, including permits, drawings, and documentation Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia 16+ years of related experience VDOT Hydraulics and Erosion Sediment Control design experience Hydrologic and hydraulic stream analysis including scour analysis Stormwater Management design and plan experience Permit Drawings experience FEMA FIS Flood Study CLOMR/LOMR experience and experience coordinating submittals for reviews and final approval Experience with various HECs for scour, stream and bank stability, roadway stability, and related countermeasure design Development of complete contract advertisement documents and project specifications Benefits
