Commercial Driver! Shift Details:
Monday through Friday from 5:30am-3:30pm (or until the route is completed). Starting pay is $25.50 per hour, with the potential for a $1/hr increase after six months based on a positive review. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate a garbage truck along designated routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed, ensuring efficient operations.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance.
Engage courteously with customers and undertake miscellaneous job-related duties as needed.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands: Extensive physical activity including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds.
Exposure to physical risks associated with moving mechanical parts, requiring adherence to basic safety protocols.
Work in outdoor conditions, subject to frequent wet and humid environments, along with exposure to fumes and vibrations. Noise levels are generally moderate.
Minimum Requirements: A valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement and a current Medical Card.
A clean driving record.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, and Department of Transportation Physical.
