Overview

HR Administrator role at Growing Up Green Charter Schools. The HR Administrator is a key member of the Human Resources team who will create a welcoming environment for new and current GUG employees, support positive interactions, and provide administrative support to ensure the HR department operates efficiently and effectively for all GUGCS employees. The role emphasizes leading with an equity mindset in decision making and supporting onboarding, employee data maintenance, and collaboration with the HR and Talent teams. Responsibilities

Employee File Maintenance: provide administrative support for the HR Department, assist with HR meetings, document staff interactions, and support School Leaders with campus updates HR Data & Documentation: maintain the HR folder in Google Drive, update employee data (renewals, certifications, leave, advanced degrees, etc.), manage Master Staff list, and collect documentation during various points in the year (handbook acknowledgments, mandated training, performance reviews, etc.) Data and Forms Management: oversee data and forms collection (e.g., audits, 401k, payroll forms, teacher coupons), and support benefits-qualifying events throughout the year Communication: ensure staff adhere to the employee handbook; send weekly cross-campus schedule reminders; compile staff attendance; create materials for Employee Assistance Programs; manage timesheets and onboarding communications Onboarding & New Hires: lead onboarding for new employees, create onboarding emails and calls, prepare new hire folders, and assemble new hire packets with HR/Benefits/Payroll information Policy & Inquiry Support: respond to internal/external HR inquiries, remind staff about policies, and provide benefit education and administration HR Reporting & Recruitment Support: create monthly HR reports and assist with recruitment activities onsite (candidate tours, interviews, and coordination with school leaders) Data Security: ensure data security through established procedures Qualifications

Commitment to Growing Up Green Charter School's mission and vision 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources Experience in education or a non-profit environment is a plus Strong organizational, follow-up, project management, and process improvement skills Ability to balance short-term and long-term priorities Initiative and flexible support across HR areas Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) Discretion and confidentiality; sound judgment Professionalism, deadline awareness, and resilience ADP experience is a plus Hybrid role: 4 days in person and 1 day remote Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 per year Education

Bachelor's degree required; Masters a plus Required Certificates & Licences

NYC DOE/Fingerprinting & Background Clearance Employment Type
