Job ID: REQID0002420 Stowers Institute for Medical Research is seeking an AV and Desktop Support Engineer who is ready to grow into a hybrid role supporting both conference room technologies and desktop computing. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in IT support who is eager to take on more responsibility in AV administration, device lifecycle, and user experience improvement. Key Responsibilities:
Provide end-user support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and core applications (Windows/macOS). Support the setup and operation of Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms, and general conference room equipment. Assist with AV troubleshooting, hardware replacements, and system checks. Shadow or assist with AV installations and refresh projects. Coordinate with Facilities and vendors for minor upgrades or issue resolution. Document common AV and IT support procedures for internal knowledgebase. Participate in onboarding/offboarding and white-glove device setup for new hires. Required Qualifications:
13 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or AV assistance. Familiarity with both Windows and macOS environments. Exposure to Zoom/Teams and basic AV troubleshooting (camera, mic, projector setup). Strong communication and troubleshooting skills. Willingness to learn and grow into advanced AV technologies (e.g., Crestron, DSPs). CTS certification or willingness to obtain. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Dante audio systems for digital audio routing, configuration, or troubleshooting in AV environments. Experience operating or supporting TriCaster systems for video production, streaming, or hybrid event setups. Experience with Biamp and Crestron AV systems. Experience supporting conferencing hardware (e.g., Logitech, Poly). Familiarity with AV basics such as HDMI, cabling, and room audio systems To Apply
