Web Solutions Architect Contract position with hybrid work arrangements. Locations: Oakland, CA | Rancho Cordova, CA | Alpharetta, GA. This is a 6-12 month contract opportunity with potential for extension as part of a new project initiative. The client is a leading dental benefits company focused on digital transformation and healthcare technology. Role: You will serve as the technical leader and strategic visionary for UI/web architecture initiatives, defining the architectural direction for enterprise-level healthcare applications and translating requirements into scalable, secure, and user-friendly web solutions that meet industry standards. Responsibilities
Define technical strategy and architectural direction for UI projects to ensure scalability, reliability, security, and regulatory compliance. Conduct technical design reviews and guide critical technology decisions including technology stack selection. Evaluate existing systems and propose strategic integration approaches while adhering to industry best practices. Guide high-level UI design initiatives and ensure compliance with established enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with UX designers, product management, and usability experts to translate concepts into production-ready UI architectures. Design and govern integrations with backend systems, identity providers, third-party services, and APIs including REST and GraphQL. Ensure web solutions meet enterprise authentication, authorization, and API security standards for healthcare applications. Define deployment architecture leveraging containerization, CI/CD practices, and monitoring strategies. Mentor UI development teams on architectural principles, best practices, and emerging technologies. Engage with stakeholders to understand complex requirements and communicate architectural decisions effectively. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards including HIPAA, HITRUST, and OWASP security guidelines. Required Experience / Skills
7+ years in web architecture and enterprise application design with healthcare or regulated industry focus. Expert-level proficiency in Angular for enterprise development. Advanced experience building scalable React applications and reusable component libraries. Strong knowledge of Vue.js for enterprise implementations. Proficiency with Node.js for build tools, server-side development, and modern tooling. Experience with Java/Spring frameworks in frontend integration contexts. Familiarity with Oracle technologies and database integration patterns. Deep understanding of large-scale CSS organization, methodologies, and preprocessing techniques. Experience designing and integrating with REST APIs and modern web services. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines for web applications. Knowledge of DevOps practices, containerization, and deployment automation. Understanding of UX principles and ability to collaborate with UX teams. Knowledge of UI design patterns and ability to translate designs into scalable solutions. Proven track record in architectural decision-making and enterprise system design. Knowledge of regulatory standards including HIPAA, HITRUST, and OWASP. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Proven leadership experience guiding and mentoring UI development teams. Must be authorized to work in the US (US Citizen, Green Card, or Green Card EAD). Must be local to Oakland, CA; Rancho Cordova, CA; or Alpharetta, GA areas. Nice-to-Haves
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience in agile environments with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of accessibility standards and performance optimization for healthcare apps. Background in Healthcare industry or content management systems. Experience with large-scale web applications serving millions of users. Familiarity with containerization and cloud deployment strategies. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager or Oracle ADF enterprise frameworks. Knowledge of secure development lifecycle practices and security testing methodologies. Education
