Geotechnical Project Engineer II

to join our fast growing team in Phoenix, AZ! You will be the driving force behind the technical and field aspects of our most challenging projects, ensuring the structural integrity of our clients' work, from the ground up.

As a

Geotechnical Project Engineer II

, you will oversee field activities, such as subsurface investigations and construction observation, and ensure the timely delivery of client deliverables. You will independently perform complex geotechnical calculations, review designs, prepare detailed reports, and contribute to project planning. In addition, you will guide junior staff and serve as a direct interface with clients and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Independently execute engineering designs, studies, and technical calculations

Manage portions of projects or small projects from scoping through final deliverables

Review and develop technical specifications, construction documents, and cost estimates

Conduct and oversee field investigations, construction monitoring, and data analysis

Evaluate and mitigate project risks; contribute to QA/QC processes.

Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and completeness

Serve as a technical liaison with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies

Support proposal development and provide input on scopes, schedules, and budgets

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, or Geotechnical Engineering

5+ years of progressive engineering experience

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; travel as needed

Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) and project documentation tools

Solid knowledge of industry regulations, construction practices, and risk management

Effective communication and leadership skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position primarily operates in our Phoenix, AZ location

Work is conducted using a computer, phone, and virtual collaboration tools, with regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders

Employees are expected to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic setting that may involve virtual meetings,deadlines, and independent work.
