Controls Engineer
Perform software and hardware-related design, integration, and modification for CNC lathes and other associated peripheral automation equipment. Utilize ladder logic software and machine language programming to design and modify complete systems for part automation and control of base machine lathes. Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to develop products and systems that fulfill customer orders. Responsibilities
Use ladder logic programming and custom software to control CNC lathes and integrate peripheral automation equipment. Collaborate with Engineering Management and Project Managers to meet customer delivery schedules and manage time across multiple projects. Design systems that meet customer specifications and adhere to industry safety standards using project programming guidelines. Work with electrical and mechanical design teams to develop IO lists and control equipment functions and automatic operations. Be involved from project design to completion, submitting status reports to Engineering and Project Managers as required. Attend status, customer, and design review meetings. Travel to customer facilities to install, modify, and debug software. Collaborate with other departments within the Machine Tools Division as required by project and engineering management. Research and develop new equipment and processes that can be integrated with existing machines, keeping abreast of new technology. Essential Skills
Proficiency in ladder logic programming and integration. Experience with automation, CNC systems, and basic programming skills. Knowledge of AGVs, robots, CNC, PLC, and HMI systems. Ability to program PLCs and CNCs, preferably with Allen Bradley PLCs. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, BSSE, BSEET) or equivalent technical degree. 4+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a Controls Systems Integrator. A valid driver's license and a good driving record. Up to 25% travel, including domestic and international trips, with overnight stays. Work Environment
