General Summary of the Job:

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing personalized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' ability to perform daily activities and regain independence after injuries, surgeries, or medical conditions. The OT will work closely with patients to help them develop or restore essential skills for self-care, work, and leisure, focusing on improving functional mobility, and adaptive techniques. This is an hourly position. The ideal candidate will have expertise in evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including fine motor skills, and a strong dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care to improve the overall quality of life for patients. Essential Job Functions:

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to develop personalized treatment plans focused on enhancing functional independence.

Utilize a variety of techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities, to promote recovery and improve daily living skills.

Design and fabricate custom splints and casts to support injury recovery and improve patient functionality.

Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and injury prevention strategies.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.

Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes to ensure continuity of care.

Stay updated with the latest occupational therapy techniques, therapeutic tools, and industry advancements.

Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards in occupational therapy practice to ensure the highest quality of care.

Education, prior work experience, and specialized skills and knowledge:

Education : Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (OTD or MOT) from an accredited program.

Licensure : Active state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.

Experience : Previous experience in an outpatient, clinical, or rehabilitation setting preferred.

Business machines and computer software used:

Operate general office machines to include regular typing and word processing equipment, electronic medical records (EMR), copy machines, electronic faxing, and phones.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

Expertise in evaluating and treating a wide range of physical conditions.

Proficiency in designing and fabricating custom splints and casts.

Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technologies to support daily living.

Familiarity with therapeutic techniques such as functional mobility training, and fine motor rehabilitation.

Strong communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
