Job Description
Analyzes complex maintenance plans and requirements; determines tools, equipment and materials needed, plans and carries out highly involved work projects. Locates and determines electrical and electronic malfunctions by using test instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscope, PLC programmers, and PC on production equipment and machinery. Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems by utilizing appropriate schematics or working from past experience. Repairs and maintains complicated machines and mechanical equipment (i.e., motors, fabricating devices, conveyor systems, plant electrical and mechanical system and production machines). Ability to perform calibration on electronic instruments using NIST standards. Should constantly promote and improve safety. Must be able to safely operate and drive forklift as well as operate any other material handling equipment. Must be able to communicate problems and resolutions to management. Must have own toolbox and tools needed to perform the job. Years Of Experience
Minimum of 2-5 years experience in the specialized trades of mechanical, and electronic/electrical technology within manufacturing environment. Two year degree program in electrical/mechanical related field with 1-3 years experience. Successful completion of the SBCC Standard Maintenance Electrician Exam. Strong experience in math and mechanical drawings. Hands on experience in troubleshooting and optimizing equipment. Ability to work in a team environment; must have excellent written/verbal communication skills and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
