This position is 100% in-person, located at 1560 Berger Drive, San Jose CA 95112. Some presence may be required at our other location at 2650 Senter Road, San Jose CA 95111. Travel:
Local travel between job sites may be required up to 50% of the time. About the Organization
One of the first urban Conservation Corps in the country, the San Jose Conservation Corps + Charter School (SJCC+CS) was founded in 1987 to empower young adults aged 18 to 27 ("Corpsmembers") to upskill themselves and advance their career in conservation and green spaces. Today, SJCC+CS operates a 1-year paid workforce development program and is a WASC-accredited charter high school. We are committed to education, environmental conservation, and community engagement. The Corps Futures Coordinator supports Corpsmembers with career exploration and development through career readiness workshops, postsecondary program events, and opportunities. Responsibilities include monthly check-ins with Corpsmembers for Education Award reviews, career development, and pathway interest, and follow-up to verify placement and successful completion as Corpsmembers transition to their desired pathways. The role requires professional communication and organization while collaborating with multiple departments and external partners. Prior experience in training development, facilitation, youth development, postsecondary education, data tracking, time management, critical thinking, and public speaking is preferred. What You'll Do
Post-Secondary Pathways Facilitate vocational program pathway and career opportunities workshops during monthly orientations. Provide monthly Corpsmember journey progression updates and portfolio completion tracking. Coordinate and facilitate monthly workshops focusing on job readiness and career development. Support CTE Corpsmember training, workshops, and industry-recognized certification sessions. Coordinate a quarterly Futures Fair exposing Corpsmembers to local post-secondary opportunities. Plan quarterly postsecondary program tours, field trips, and speaker events. Corpsmember Portfolio Ensure each Corpsmember has a portfolio including: Career Readiness Files, certifications, and industry-recognized credentials (examples listed in original). Data Collection and Reporting Gather, compile, and analyze data related to Education Award completion, training, and placement. Prepare data for presentations in graphic, tabular, pictorial, and written form. Support regular reporting systems and assist with recognition events. Administration & General Schedule and coordinate meetings for job-training department corpsmembers. Serve as administrative point of contact for Corps Futures training, workshops, and 1:1 meetings. Communicate training opportunities, edit master training calendar, and coordinate via email, phone, and Slack. Coordinate scheduling with external partners and manage program supplies and receipts. Minimum Qualifications One of the following: High School Diploma/GED + 4 years relevant experience; Associates degree + 3 years; Bachelors degree + 2 years (all in related fields). Passion for youth development, workforce development, education, conservation, climate, and/or related subjects. Strong collaboration, professionalism, confidentiality, and communication skills; experience in facilitating groups and developing workshops. Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred/Additional : Bilingual (English/Spanish); nonprofit sector experience.
