Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for a DeltaV Automation Engineer
Overview:
Join an employee-owned engineering leader as a DeltaV Engineer, playing a critical role in designing and implementing advanced automation solutions for the Life Sciences industry. You will deliver high-quality, regulatory-compliant systems for biopharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing clients nationwide. This position is based in Kalamazoo, MI, and offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects within a culture that values innovation and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV control systems.
Program and design DeltaV batch processes in accordance with ISA-88 standards.
Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and develop customized automation solutions.
Engineer system architecture, instrument specifications, and control strategies.
Configure DeltaV controllers, HMI, and historian solutions, ensuring compliance with GAMP 5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
Conduct and support Factory (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Provide on-site startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting support.
Ensure compliance with system development life cycle and validation documentation requirements.
Work with cross-functional teams (electrical, process, validation engineers, project managers) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experiences
3 to 7 years of automation and control system engineering experience.
Proven, hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV systems is essential.
Proficiency in DeltaV Batch configuration and ISA-88 standards.
Experience with industrial automation protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus TCP/IP).
Working experience in the Life Sciences industry (biotech, pharma, medical devices) is highly preferred.
Knowledge of GAMP5, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation processes.
Experience with system commissioning, FAT, and SAT.
Other
Willingness to travel up to 25% for on-site client support.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Must provide professional references from a peer and a manager.
