Job Summary: A leading automotive supplier is seeking a Quality Engineer to support both pre-production and production builds of powertrains and vehicles. This role plays a key part in validating engineering designs and supporting manufacturing process development. The QE will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the build phases. Ideal candidates will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with quality tools like Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001, and SPC.

Responsibilities: • Provides technical assistance to technicians. • Perform early issue identification, tracking and resolution to ensure segment leadership. • Acts as a liaison between GAIC and engineering, manufacturing engineering and suppler quality issues during the build phases. • Conducts easel board meetings by leading teams through the global issue resolution process • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project • Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions • Leads easel board review meetings and participates in Issue Resolution Team (IRT) meetings. • Interacts with Suppliers and leads containment efforts for Supplier Quality issues including acceptance of 5 phases and submitting cost recovery documentation • Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, GD&T, math data and other engineering documentation • Ability to read and understand CMM, FARO, Scan reports and other types of critical data as it relates to engineering design and supplier components/sub-assemblies • Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise • Actively looks for opportunities to drive change and continuous improvement with current practices & processes. • Strives to expand professional knowledge/development thru available training & certifications (i.e. Red X; DFSS etc.) • Understand and work within Global Manufacturing System (GMS) Business Plan Deployment (BPD) framework.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience • 2+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment • Strong understanding of production processes and quality assurance methodologies. • Quality Tools & Systems: Proficiency with quality methodologies and software, including Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001, or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
