Job Description Summary

The technology maturation leader owns managing the Technology Readiness and Risk Mitigation Plan with the test organization for the Advanced Ducted Program. The Tech Mat Leader owns and maintains the program test plan and works with the test rig owners, design disciplines and Systems module owners to ensure the component, sub-systems and full systems testing for each module or entire core and engine are on track to meet the program goals. The Tech Mat Leaders runs regular Tech Mat reviews, communicates status on Technology Readiness Levels, Risk Levels, and Manufacturing Readiness Levels. The Tech Mat Leader plays a key role in the alignment of the overall test plan, test schedules and budget plans, collaborating closely with the test owners and Ops leader.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements

Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments

Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments

Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks

Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

At least 5 additional years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position

Desired Characteristics:

Demonstrated Operational rigor

Experience managing a detailed program schedule

Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work

Experience leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
