We are currently looking to hire a
Senior Buyer
for one of our clients on a
contract basis . They are one of the worlds leading industrial materials companies whose products are critical to the modern economy and carbon reduction. Their materials are essential to the low-carbon, electrified technologies that power modern life, which you will find in products from electric cars to wind turbines. About the Role
This position is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, services, and supplies from suppliers. The Senior Buyer evaluates goods and services, meets internal customer expectations, and resolves conflicts concerning materials or services. The Senior Buyer leverages their expertise with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the procurement field to execute various tasks, relying on experience and judgment to achieve goals effectively. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Attention to detail is critical. Responsibilities Adhere to corporate procurement guidelines and policies. Translate business and operational requirements from internal stakeholders into value-engineered solutions with minimal supervision. Collaborate with business units to grasp Statement of Work (SOW) requirements, establish Procurement timelines, and meet deadlines. Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely deliverables. Consult with suppliers to gather product or service details, including pricing, availability, and delivery schedules. Assess supplier quotes against market rates to identify preferred suppliers. Negotiate commercial and legal terms with Legal/Business to facilitate supplier contracts. Maintain regular communication with external suppliers and internal stakeholders. Verify invoice accuracy by matching them to Purchase Orders. Offer technical guidance and expertise to internal customers on purchasing policies, processes, Supplier sourcing, and SAP purchasing requirements. Support Purchasing Supervisor in enhancing purchasing operations through process improvements, effective communications, and performance optimization, leveraging industry best practices.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain is preferred, along with 3+ years of relevant experience. Required Skills
The ideal candidate will have strong ERP experience, preferably with SAP, and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates must also demonstrate strong decision-making, time management, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Job Details
