Diagnostic Imaging Specialist II

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist II will serve as a key member of the Department of Ophthalmology patient care team. In this role, the incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of ophthalmic images and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the imaging area. Successful candidates will have at least 2 years' experience in an ophthalmology imaging setting with an ability to independently perform fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, corneal mapping, specular biomicroscopy, and flatbed scanning, while demonstrating a strong service orientation and an ability to learn new technical skills. In this role, the Specialist II can expect to refine their skills in fluorescein angiography, ICG angiography, slit lamp photography, MPI, confocal imaging, and side scanning, as well as to contribute to the development of new Specialists. The Specialist II will work closely with providers as well as with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture of Service-Oriented, Trust, Empathy, Safety, Inclusion, and Communication. Job Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic imaging studies and examinations. Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis. Processing, sterilizing, and organizing instruments daily. Performing clerical responsibilities associated with the acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records. Offering detailed explanations of pre- and post-visit processes and diagnostic procedures to patients. Assist with onboarding and training of new staff. Serve as the first point of escalation for complex cases or scheduling issues. Assist supervisor/manager with special projects. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications

High school graduate and a minimum of 2 years' ophthalmology experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; B.S. in Biomedical Photography preferred. Ability to independently perform a range of ophthalmic imaging techniques. Certification and imaging experience for clinical research studies required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong service orientation. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Office, email, etc. Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices (multiple sites and flexible schedule). OTC-C certification (Certified Optical Coherence Tomographer) preferred. CPR certified preferred. Multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting preferred. Prior EMR experience, Epic preferred.
