Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Windows Engineer to join one of our clients in the financial sector, a major international bank based in Jersey City. The principal objective of this position is to architect and provide expert-level support and strategy for the production Windows server infrastructure. The successful candidate will participate in day-to-day support activities, administration, and projects associated with Windows infrastructure and applications, while ensuring proactive performance monitoring and stability of the environment. Key Responsibilities
Architect, design, and support large-scale Windows server environments in production Provide expert-level support and strategy for Windows infrastructure and applications Maintain proactive performance monitoring using dedicated monitoring tools to ensure system health and reliability Participate in day-to-day administration of Windows servers, ensuring availability and security Contribute to infrastructure-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and automation initiatives Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to operational procedures and technical documentation Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration of Windows servers into enterprise environments Support incident, change, and problem management processes related to the Windows platform Required Skills and Qualifications

The following reflects the professional experience and capabilities requested for this role. 10+ years of professional experience in technology, with a strong focus on Windows environments and enterprise infrastructures. Skilled in scripting and automation using PowerShell, VBScript, Ansible, and Terraform (for Windows automation). Proven expertise in architecting, implementing, and supporting Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022), including high availability, clustering, failover, patching, and server hardening. Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, vSphere, Hyper-V). Strong knowledge of monitoring and performance tools such as SCOM, SolarWinds, Nagios, Dynatrace, and AppDynamics. Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures: Microsoft Azure IaaS, AWS EC2, Azure AD, Entra ID. Solid expertise in networking and security services (DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, certificates, load balancers including F5 and Citrix NetScaler). Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities across server infrastructure and applications. Experience in delivering technical documentation, procedures, and best practices, with excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical teams. Additional Skills
Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying improvement areas. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Team-oriented mindset with a sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to work across time zones and with global teams. Prior experience in a corporate banking environment appreciated. Hybrid model: 3 days per week on-site in Jersey City.
