Must be willing to travel between community Endoscopy units Posted Date: 09/15/2025 Salary Range : $35.2 - 45.52 Hourly Employment Type: Indefinite Job #: 26660 Primary Duties and Responsibilities Under the general direction and supervision of the manager, the GI Tech is responsible for assisting in endoscope and equipment decontamination and reprocessing, and is the departmental expert in this area. Assist with equipment and procedure room preparation, setup, and calibration prior to procedures; procedure room breakdown; and specimen collection in the GI lab. Inventory control and scope reprocessing; testing, arranging repair, and documentation of endoscope processing and repair.

Job Qualifications

At least one year of Surg Tech/GI Tech experience, required. Completion of education from an accredited surgical technician program or certification as GI Technician, required. BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required. Knowledge and adherence to GI Lab policies and procedures following orientation. Skill in reading documents written in Standard English text such as administrative policy and procedure manuals. Skill in evaluation and implementation of technical information from operation manuals and directions for use of disinfectants, lubricants, and other cleaning agents. Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly to convey information to various levels within the organization. Writing skills sufficient to use appropriate vocabulary and grammar when logging and reporting. Ability to speak on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and provide information. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all team members and ancillary staff. Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Skill in setting priorities that reflect the importance to job responsibilities. Ability to work independently and interdependently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Ability to adapt to changes in workload or assignments. Skill and manual dexterity to work with intricate equipment without dropping or damaging it. Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
