We provide Residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care with a strong focus on evidence-based, compassionate treatment in a structured and supportive environment.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field and demonstrate experience in substance use treatment. This role involves providing individual and group therapy, facilitating psychoeducational sessions, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support client recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Facilitate group therapy sessions and educational groups for clients in residential, PHP, and IOP programs Provide individual counseling, relapse prevention planning, and crisis intervention as needed Maintain accurate, timely, and DCF-compliant documentation in the EMR system Collaborate with nursing, admissions, operations, and other departments to ensure continuity of care Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning Uphold professional ethics, client confidentiality, and program standards at all times Qualifications
Master's degree required in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (no exceptions) Licensure or working toward licensure preferred (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) Minimum 2 years of experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling (preferred) Knowledge of evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and relapse prevention Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced treatment environment Benefits
