Position:

Foundry Disa Technician

Foundry Disa Technician performs pre-operation and routine checks while operating a Disamatic Mold Machine and Inductotherm Autopour. Technicians are responsible for pattern changes, monitoring iron and mechanical repairs/preventative maintenance as required.

Disa Supervisor Direct Reports: None Mission Critical: Reasonable Attendance Positive Attitude Strong Attention to Detail Communication Functional Relationships: Employees Supervisors Others as needed Responsibilities: Operate Disamatic Mold Machine and Inductotherm Autopour Perform pre-operation checks (including guard placement, inspecting mold and pattern, stopper rod alignment) Perform routine checks (including molds, pattern and AMC) Slag the pour launder Obtain iron samples for QA spectrometer Take Iron temperature and maintain SPC charts. Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance as required. May fill in for ladle operator at times. Ability to access Service Scheduling software in Sage to find preventative maintenance SRO or PM's. Ability to look up parts and order parts in Sage. Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with the 5L guidelines. Assist with or perform all other job related duties as assigned. Basic Requirements: High school diploma or GED Completion of Math (70 or higher) and Utility Test 90% Disa Skills Evaluation Summary of Necessary Knowledge, Experience and Skills: Minimum three to five years related experience and/or training preferred. Working knowledge of PC and Windows based software Basic Math Skills Forklift License Required Disa Experience Preferred Autopour Experience Preferred Welding Knowledge Torch Knowledge Sweeper Knowledge Working Conditions:

Job performance requires the employee to stand, lift, walk, reach, bend, grasp, stoop, kneel, push and pull. Lifting up to 80lbs. Exposure to moving parts such as crane, furnace, hopper, transfer ladle and forklift. Exposure to a dusty environment and does require safety glasses at all times. Hard hat with tinted face shield required if working transfer ladle; respirator and PAPR available when needed/wanted. Hearing protection is required in the operating area. Exposure to forklift fumes and may be exposed to ambient temperatures of + or - 10 to 15 degrees. Composite or Steel-Toe Safety Footwear (either slip-off or with spats) is required. Leather gloves are required Lodge long sleeve shirt or Lodge short sleeve shirt with Kevlar sleeves required. 100% cotton clothing at all times; high temp jacket.
