ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST
OVERVIEW:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for leading the development and execution of the organization's EHS programs. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, promoting a culture of safety, and mitigating environmental and workplace risks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken. Design and deliver EHS training programs tailored to various roles within the organization. Investigate and analyze incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures. Collaborate across departments to integrate EHS considerations into business operations and project planning. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS regulations and industry best practices. WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
