CMS Energy is seeking a
Real Estate Title Agent III
to join our team for a long-term project located in
Jackson, MI . This is a contract-based position with an expected duration of
October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026 . The ideal candidate will have at least
3 years of experience in the Right of Way/Real Estate industry , with a minimum of
1 year working specifically as a Title Agent . This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of land rights and titles and will involve both internal and external due diligence. Responsibilities
Review and interpret various
conveyance documents
and
land-related contracts
and agreements, including but not limited to: Fee simple Rights-of-way Leases Easements Licenses Permits Releases Conduct
due diligence
(both internal and external) to verify the accuracy and completeness of land rights. Identify deficiencies requiring curative action and take necessary steps to resolve them. Organize and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines, adjusting to changing priorities and handling pressure with minimal supervision. Utilize
Owner's established policies, procedures, and processes
to perform work in compliance with company standards. Prepare and review
chain of title
documents and conduct thorough research in
courthouses
and other
government offices
of record. Prepare and manage
spreadsheets
and other documentation to support real estate efforts. Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience
in the Right of Way/Real Estate industry. At least
1 year of experience
as a
Title Agent . Proficient in interpreting
land legal descriptions
and reading various land title documents. Experience in
land title research
and preparing
chain of title . Strong understanding of
settlement instruments
and
contract terms . Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a keen eye for detail. Proficient in
Microsoft Excel
and other office tools for documentation and reporting purposes.
