Deadheading Detail
Ambler Arboretum of Temple University, Ambler, Pennsylvania, United States, 19002
No, no this is nothing related to the Grateful Dead, but if you want to put your earbuds in and get down to "Sugar Magnolia" while in the garden, that is a-ok with us! We are looking for folks who are able to come in on their own schedule and help us remove the spent blossoms in our perennial gardens and annual displays.
Deadheading, the practice of pruning spent flowers from flowering plants to encourage more flowers and prevent seeding, prolongs our colorful displays and provides food for pollinators for a longer time.
This can easily be done on your schedule with a pair of garden shears or pruners.
We will provide an initial training and instructions and then you just let us know when you are available and we will tell you which spaces are priority.
And if you get confused just "listen to the music play". We will help you out and in the meantime you can go enjoy the "Sunshine, daydream, walking in the tall trees, going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose"
