Senior Manager, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead advanced modeling initiatives supporting the performance, resiliency, and efficiency of OCI's hyperscale data centers. This role has a strong emphasis on thermal and power management through computational modeling, data analytics, and continuous innovation. The successful candidate will manage a technical team dedicated to optimizing thermal performance, power distribution, and energy efficiency to enable the next generation of cloud and AI workloads. Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers in performing thermal and power system modeling, analysis, and validation for data center facilities and IT equipment. Oversee computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and Model Based Design (MBD) modeling for thermal management to optimize cooling strategies and facility designs. Direct dynamic power distribution modeling, including scenario simulation, load balancing, and integration with on-site generation (OSG) systems. Develop, maintain, and promote engineering standards, simulation methodologies, and best practices for data center thermal and power systems. Collaborate with hardware development and infrastructure teams to align facility modeling with IT equipment requirements and performance targets. Implement telemetry and data analytics frameworks to monitor, analyze, and enhance the efficiency and reliability of thermal and power management systems. Evaluate new modeling tools, simulation technologies, and energy optimization solutions for continuous improvement. Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders and present modeling outcomes, risk assessments, and recommended solutions to leadership. Mentor, coach, and develop talent within the modeling team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field (Master's preferred). 7+ years of experience in data center engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical management or lead modeling role. Demonstrated expertise in thermal and power modeling for mission-critical infrastructure, including CFD and MBD. Solid knowledge of IT hardware requirements, cooling systems, and data center infrastructure. Experience implementing data telemetry, collection, and analytics to optimize operational performance. Track record of managing engineering projects and working cross-functionally across technical and operational teams. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical discipline. Experience with large-scale (hyperscale) cloud and AI-driven data centers. Knowledge of renewable energy integration, microgrids, and advanced energy storage. Familiarity with AI/ML-driven predictive modeling and automation for thermal and power management. Experience in both new construction and retrofit/expansion of data center projects. Vendor and partner management experience in engineering services or technology development. Disclaimer
