This healthcare and pension funds client is hiring for two hybrid Business Systems Analysts. These are yearlong contracts with potential for extension or conversion. Hybrid work: onsite 3 days a week in Burbank. Base pay
$52.00/hr - $55.00/hr Responsibilities
Act as the intermediary between the business and IT, understanding business processes and technology to help partners achieve outcomes. Identify and document capabilities to address business challenges and enable technology solutions. Apply knowledge of agile methodologies to drive projects. Review end-to-end business processes to identify operational, financial, and technological risks and opportunities for efficiency improvements. Lead small to mid-size projects and support larger projects related to business functions. Bridge functional and technical resources to streamline processes within IT. Partner with stakeholders to identify business needs, gather requirements, and coordinate technology and process improvements. Provide consultative input on technology initiatives to align with strategic goals. Collaborate with IT to deliver comprehensive business requirements, aligning solutions with stakeholder needs and project objectives. Design and prototype solutions with business units to enhance processes and drive value. Monitor industry and technology trends to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Maintain and groom the product backlog by creating epics and user stories with acceptance criteria; ensure clear solution descriptions. Elicit high-level requirements, define user journeys, and capture detailed business needs with a user-centric focus. Engage stakeholders to influence decisions, assess risks, and balance competing demands to deliver optimal solutions. Promote architectural consistency, usability standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle; define and execute test cases. Identify opportunities for efficiency gains, process improvements, and product enhancements. Own assigned tasks and initiatives to drive them to successful completion with minimal oversight. Conduct business and systems process analyses to enable design changes aligned with organizational goals. Balance stakeholder needs and manage multiple priorities; build strong relationships and communicate effectively. Support and help run agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, sprint planning). Provide QA support as needed and contribute to project and program activities aligned with IT strategy. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 35 years of IT/business project management experience; experience on large-scale projects and handling day-to-day operational requests. Preferred: Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and Pension domain experience. Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies. Experience converting business and functional requirements into use cases, epics, and user stories with acceptance criteria. Ability to quantify resource requirements and communicate proposals; strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills. Ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes; strong relationship-building and communication skills. Data analysis proficiency (SQL or Microsoft Excel). Understanding of systems engineering concepts; ability to conduct cost/benefit analyses, business case development, and process flow modeling. Experience across a range of technical environments; strong consensus-building communication skills. Seniority level
