VCA Coast Animal Hospital is seeking a Relief Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, 4-doctor practice in Hermosa Beach, California. Position available for a Relief, experienced Veterinary Assistant. Responsibilities require proficiency in phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, stress-free handling, digital radiography, administration of vaccines and medications. The ideal candidate will also possess great attendance, client communication skills and superior customer service skills, attention to detail and a desire to work in a great team atmosphere. Essential functions include: Venipuncture Catheter placement Radiology Physical examinations, patient assessment and record keeping Surgical preparation and assisting Dentistry Laboratory work Pharmacy Patient recovery Compassionate care for hospitalized patients Client Relations Housekeeping/Maintenance Qualifications: Must have documented previous animal hospital experience Animal handling Anesthesia monitoring (Preferred but not required) Dentistry (Preferred but not required) Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties that will be expected in the job Must be friendly, outgoing, "people oriented" Flexibility in hours including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays Customer service skills including phone skills Working knowledge of computers Excellent communications skills Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments Why join the VCA family?
