Job Description The Analytics and Decision Support team is an integral part of the Investments Risk and Return group. This dynamic team is responsible for creating an investment data and analytics platform, delivering insightful reporting, and performing analyses that empower investment and business decisions. As a Risk and Return Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in defining analytics requirements, sourcing data, conducting analyses, and managing reports. Collaborate with key leaders to tackle complex research requests, identify analytics needs, and develop data processes that advance our projects. This position requires working in our downtown Chicago office 2-3 times per week. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with stakeholders to define data and analytics requirements supporting Risk/Return objectives. Develop proof of concept solutions from diverse data sources to enhance our SQL Server platform. Assist in building performance attribution and risk reporting frameworks. Utilize analytical and quantitative methods to analyze and process data. Identify and resolve data issues within investment tools. Coordinate with investment data owners to ensure consistent data across platforms. Verify calculation logic and assess the quality of vendor analytics. Perform data analysis to identify quality issues and gaps in new data sources. Evaluate existing processes to find opportunities for enhancing disparate data. Identify relevant data to support the Analytics Data Warehouse development. Education and Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in portfolio and risk analytics, performance measurement, or performance attribution. Experience with various asset classes, including both public and private assets. Solid understanding of risk management concepts and key performance drivers within investment portfolios. Experience with platforms such as BlackRock, Clearwater or eFront is a plus. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CFA or progress toward CFA is preferred. Functional Skills: Proficient in SQL with experience in large relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle). Knowledge of R, Python, or similar scripting languages is a plus. Familiarity with analytics tools like Tableau. Strong independent thinking and complex problem-solving capabilities. Detail-oriented self-starter with a commitment to accuracy. Ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and ensure successful, timely execution. Experience with commercial risk systems like Aladdin, POINT, or RiskMetrics. Demonstrated ability in fixed income analytics, with a knack for automating and streamlining processes. Team-oriented individual who excels as a key member of collaborative environments. Compensation The compensation for this role is between $69,200.00 and $123,800.00 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
