Supply Chain Intern (Summer 2026)

The Supply Chain Intern will assist sourcing group to purchase commodities to meet production needs as well as special projects to help overall Supply Chain Quality, Costs, and Delivery goals. What You'll Do as a Supply Chain Intern
Purchase product to support Manufactured Products and non-inventory requirements. Expedite purchase orders to maintain material flow and provide customer requests. Maintain appropriate purchasing files as required. Support and implement initiatives with favorable impact on inventory goals, quality, continuity of supply and cost objectives. Negotiate and facilitates the return of rejected and/or obsolete material. Reconcile Accounts Payable discrepancies. Participate/Learn Lean Manufacturing Tools and Principles Participate in any quality audits of assigned supplier and maintains records, which will allow STERIS to evaluate supplier performance. The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Required: Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree - supply chain, business, industrial engineering, or related field. Sophomore year requirements must be completed by May 2026. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel and other analytical tools, techniques Must be available to work onsite. Potential for flexible work schedule after sufficient training. Preferred: Experience in procurement or prior related business experience Direct hands-on experience in a MRP system environment Other: Excellent organizational and time management skills Proven analytical skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement and quality of work Able to work independently with some instructions/direction Self-starter, someone who is proactive and who can lead by example.
