Life as an Engineering Co-op

The co-op program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, and networking opportunities. When you join our family, you will work on projects that improve your leadership, analytical, and project management skills. Be involved in the design, development, manufacturing and commercialization of new products or product modifications. Cross-functional teamwork provides an opportunity to partner with a variety of people in the organization. We offer an interactive team environment, where your capabilities and skills will be developed to build a strong career foundation.

The team would prefer the candidate to be able to complete multiple rotations of a co-op or internship.

Assignment will be onsite

The role may offer one-time housing stipend assistance

Transportation is the student's responsibility

Full time availability (40 hours per week)

Career mentorship is available with endless networking opportunities within assigned team and beyond

Pay rate is determined based on the grade level at time of offer.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of process improvements

Collect and analyze data to identify process bottlenecks and potential areas for optimization

Support process validation and documentation activities

Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues

Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality, operations, and manufacturing engineering

Conduct safety and risk assessments related to process changes

Prepare reports and presentations on process performance and improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Education:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Candidate must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a internship assignment pursuing a Bachelor's and/or Master's in materials engineering, chemical engineering, or other related field.

Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required

Must have completed one semester of school by the start of the internship

Experience and Skills:

Required:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, presentation skills, and teamwork abilities

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Some experience with data analysis is a plus

Availability to work full-time, 40hrs./week for the duration of the internship is required

Availability to complete multiple rotations of a internship or co-op is required

Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
