Embedded Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in embedded C++. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux operating systems programming and significant experience in network and messaging, including sockets, protobufs, shared memory, APIs, and other protocols/frameworks. This role requires expertise in database management systems such as PostgreSQL and any experience with signal processing is considered a plus. Additionally, experience in Java is also beneficial. While this position can be remote, attendance at our facility for the first week is required for training and orientation. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain embedded C++ applications. Program and troubleshoot Linux operating systems. Work with network and messaging protocols, including sockets, protobufs, and shared memory. Manage databases using systems such as PostgreSQL. Collaborate on projects involving signal processing and Java development. Travel to our facility for the first week for comprehensive training and orientation. Essential Skills: 5+ years of experience in embedded C++ (10+ years heavily desired). Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems programming. Significant experience with network and messaging protocols such as sockets, protobufs, and shared memory. Experience with database management systems like PostgreSQL. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Any experience with signal processing. Experience in Java development. Work Environment: The position offers the flexibility to work remotely; however, the candidate must attend the facility for the first week for training and orientation. Job Type & Location: This is a short-term contract position based out of Frederick, Maryland. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
