Job Description A DevOps Software Engineer position is available at Belcan in St. Louis, Missouri. This is a full-time role with full benefits, including eligibility for overtime pay. The selected candidate will have active security clearance and experience in software DevOps activities, and hold an Engineering or Computer Science degree. Technical Leadership & Innovation: Lead the design and evolution of cloud and DevOps capabilities across agile software programs; champion creative and forward-thinking solutions to complex engineering challenges; mentor and inspire cross-functional teams to adopt modern software architectures and development practices. Agile Program Support: Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to align software delivery with business goals; facilitate agile ceremonies and promote continuous improvement in team performance and delivery; support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release coordination for cloud-based applications. Cloud Architecture & DevOps Engineering: Architect secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools; extensive hands-on experience with Docker, Docker-Compose, Kubernetes, Helm, and image management; strong scripting background (bash, PowerShell, etc.); ensure infrastructure automation, observability, and compliance with industry best practices. Software Development & Integration: Guide development efforts in C++, C#, Java, and Python across various domains; integrate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes into cloud environments; ensure software meets performance, reliability, and maintainability standards. Collaboration & Communication: Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence; communicate architectural decisions, risks, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders; partner with security, operations, and QA teams to ensure end-to-end system integrity. Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software architecture with a focus on cloud-based solutions and DevOps practices 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipeline automation, preferably supporting cloud-native development 5+ years of experience in automated provisioning and configuring software-defined infrastructure and designing for continuous deployment and continuous operations 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) 3+ years of experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation/deployment tools 5+ years of experience understanding CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins) and practices, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) 7+ years of experience with C++, C#, Java, or Python 5+ years of experience with Agile Software Development U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of work; ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE is required to be considered for this opportunity Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Direct Experience: Supported a cloud migration initiative establishing Jira schemas and structures to support large-scale migration of concurrent users Technical Breadth & Depth: Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures; familiarity with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions); scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, or Go) Advanced DevOps & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd); observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog); policy-as-code and compliance automation (Open Policy Agent, HashiCorp Sentinel) Security & Compliance: Understanding of DevSecOps practices and SSDLC; experience implementing IAM, encryption, and secure networking in cloud environments; familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers; experience with SAFe or other enterprise agile models; strong communication for technical storytelling and architectural documentation Tooling & Ecosystem: Experience with artifact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus); familiarity with feature flagging, canary deployments, and blue/green deployments; exposure to AI/ML pipelines or data engineering workflows in cloud environments Compensation & Benefits

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position offers a salary range of $85,000 to $175,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
